DASH just came back to me wounded! He was bleeding on his back and ear. Poured hydrogen peroxide on the wound, and want to know what else. I am going to get my kiwi stop used for dogs or cats nails if there is bleeding.
He now wanted to be in his RC, is drinking and eating BooBalls! Seemed happy hat I was still here, and happy to be in his RC.

No, No, NO!! Don't use quik stop on a flesh wound! It will burn. Also, don't use hydrogen peroxide. See if you can convince him to take a nap - some inactivity will give the blood a chance to clot on its own and stop bleeding.

Betadyne is better for wound cleaning - mix about 20 drops in a quarter cup of water and use that.

Realized about the kiwi stop and did not use it. Was a bit panicky before. He has had a big drink and is now napping in his nesting box with his old fleece blanket that I helped him pull in. He must be exhausted having been running up and down huge trees for almost 6 hours. I am assuming that he got caught on a branch when he went from one tree to another. I have watched carefully, and saw no fights with any other animals. This is terrifying!!!

I would watch him for a day or so and keep him in his release cage. Just watch that his wound doesn't get infected. He should be ok. Most likely nothing to worry about.

I released an over winter in the Spring that got in a terrible fight with another male squirrel. Because it was an animal bite I brought him back in that same day and put him on antibiotics. Two weeks later I re- released him. He did fine the second time.
So glad you were there for Dash. You did great! This is hard..... I know. :Love_Icon
