Hi Nutkin is a picky eater, now she's stopped eating blocks again-she goes through phases of this but she's lost some tail fur which I know is diet related so I'm starting to worry. She has henrys blocks for picky eaters which she now won't eat, while she's gone off them I've been hiding some calcium carbonate (also from henrys) in a small piece of avocado each day which she enjoyed at first now she refuses it. She has lettuce, carrot, sweet potato, blueberry, parsnip, peas in pods, a grape and she has a little of each, she has 2 nuts in shells at night which I'm withholding while she's like this, I've looked at the boo ball recipe but can't get the formula and the vitamin to put in it, I'm in the uk, is there anything anyone can suggest? Any alternative? I have mazuri blocks I ordered from USA a while ago but she doesn't like those either, I've also tried covering up the calcium powder by mixing it with ground almond but she hates it too-if I give her a piece of avocado without anything on it she loves it! Any ideas please as I'm starting to worry, thankyou

Sorry she's being so picky!

You can make Boo Balls without formula. Here are lots of different recipes: https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?52232-Healthy-recipies-for-our-picky-squirrels-(aka-Squirrel-Friendly-Cook-Book)

There's also this: http://cliptomize.com/Clipbook/View/309372?secret=jf7yk2rk8p

You can get the vitamins from Henry's: http://www.henryspets.com/vita-mins/

Hope that helps! :)

I believe in the UK you can get Royal Canin puppy formula. It can substitute for Esbilac or Fox Valley if you really wanted some formula.

I would order some Harlan Teklad 18 rodent blocks. I have had the best luck feeding these over all other hard rodent blocks (excluding Henrys) Even my dwarf will knaw on them and he won't touch a Henrys block! My wilds and other young squirrels will take Henrys, though. They work great for making boo balls and as I said, are well liked. Good luck. I know it's very frustrating and worrisome when they stop eating. :hug
