Is this molting?

I have a wild who comes every day and I originally thought looked weirdly patchy but today she came and the front half of her body has a sleek short coat and perfectly all around it switches to long and dense.

It's like a short hair shirt and long hair pants. Is she just losing winter coat front of body first?

I have watched many of my wilds molt the top half and then the bottom half. I have seen photos on the internet of the half/half squirrel, it's pretty funny looking. I had two wilds come to me this spring looking like this. Within several weeks, they evened out.

My girls molted the entire thing at once.
