Risu's tail

Risu is acting completely normal and has normal function of her tail, but there is weird looking spot on her tail.
The attached picture shows the competence between 6/1 (top) and today (bottom). Does anyone know what that could be?

Hmm.. it looks even darker in color then when I saw it a couple of weeks ago.. the only thing I can think of is that she somehow injured it, but it is kind of odd to me that it would still look like that after such a long period of time.:thinking I just hope her pretty tail will heal and be ok.:Love_Icon:grouphug

I think she will, truly. She's moving the tail very naturally and it seems normal. I've never seen anything like that before but short of grabbing her and really looking closely at the spot I'm not sure what else you can do.....:dono

Looking at the picture and the way the tissue has been pushed out to the right along with
the outer edges of the hole curled inward (by force) I'd have to suspect she's been shot.
I suspect either BB or pellet and the shot caught her left to right. Depending on which type
it was and the metal used in the projectile could explain the appearance of the black stain.
BB's today are generally steel coated with copper, the majority of pellets are made of lead.

If that is the case I better not get a hold of that person......
I must don't know who would do something like that around here. My mother in law lives next door to me on one side and the neighbors on the other side love the wildlife and each property is fairly big and Risu doesn't wander very far, we own almost 5 acres total to the back and side of the house, but it could be an explanation.

When Risu came home this evening I noticed another injury :sadness, but it doesn't seem to slow her down. My poor little girl.

Risu's tail is still a mystery, I don't know what to think. She has some additional fur loss on her tail now. The other mystery injury seems better today.
