HELP! Hillsborough County, Florida

I am Florida Licensed Rehabber - Pasco County ....West Coast...

Hi there,
I'm down in Hillsborough County, and I have an injured squirrel in my backyard. His hind legs are totally disabled. One of my cats was sitting near him this morning, but I don't see any wounds on the squirrel so I'm not sure what happened.
I put it in a rabbit hutch with a little food and water to observe him and after a couple hours he tried chewing his way out.
So I let him out and he went over to a tree surrounded by bromeliads and he's just hugging the base of the tree. There are other cats that will definitely kill him if he gets away from the tree. I don't know what to do.

Thanks for responding and offering to help. I got impatient and took him to Blue Pearl Emergency Vet Service. I was afraid to wait until Friday and didn't see him making any progress. I hope they can do something for him. I was told that once you sign over a wild animal they are given to an official Fish and Wildlife Commission representative for care.
