Just noticed some hair loss

I noticed that April, one of the girls I just got from Dr. E, has some hair loss on a rear leg and the end of her tail has shortened hair. Any ideas on what it might be? And what I can treat it with? I haven't noticed any hair missing on the other two.

Sometimes when they have nutrition issues, their hair is thinner and breaks more easily. Have you ever seen kitten fur syndrome, the fine coat comes in but the guard hair and more mature fur don't come in at appropriate time. If it is not nutritional, then the next thing would possibly be mites. My guess is it is nutritional.

Sorry, meant to post a pic. The end of her tail was like this when I got her, but didn't notice the missing hair on the rear leg till last night.

Gosh Mel that leg is weird. Have to say that I am not sure. To have one small area isolated like that is odd. Is she scratching at all? If it continues, you might have the good doc do a skin scrapping.

Previous to your getting her, is it possible that she was caught in something and rubbed the fur off the tail and leg in trying to escape?

I contacted Dr. E about it. She said that she was already treated for mites, but it could be that again. She said she would call me later. April doesn't appear to be scratching or chewing it.
