This is my first time trying to rehab a squirrel. Sandy has now been with me almost 3 weeks. I am wondering if anyone could tell me an approx age for her. Also, she will NOT eat vegetables. I have offered her asparagus, red cabbage, lettuce, squash, sweet corn (she did love this, but when I found out it is bad for her, I took it away), carrots, broccoli, cauliflower. She will eat some fruit such as a slice of apple or a banana slice. But most times when I get home from work, all of her food is still in it's same spot, untouched and she acts as though she is starving. She also has the Henry's blocks. She will nibble them, but then I find the rock hard remains burried in her dirt box (which I am proud to say she has potty trained herself to pee in the dirt box, but it's a little weird that she's burying her food in there too). Does she look like she is a good/balanced weight? She loves her Esbilac and I mix in some baby food (squash, green beans, or fruit) so I know she's getting some necessary other nutrition. She loves to chew on her pine branches, so I know her teeth are ok...just wondering why she doesn't seem to eat much yet and still prefers her formula/baby food feedings. Lot of questions, but I want to make sure she is ok. She poops and pees fine and is very active and loves to "rough house".

Your baby is around 8 weeks old and at this age its mainly only interested in formula being feed at 5-7% of its body weight every six hours, with hhb squirrel block being introduced as part of your squirrels daily diet until the block is fully accepted ..... veggies & fruit will come later.

Thank you. It's good to know an approx age for her and that her eating habits right now are normal.
