I just got a sweet gray baby with physical attributes of a 6 or 7 weeks old (sitting up, curling tail, decent size top teeth). She only weighs 97 g and I can feel every bone in her body. :sadness How much underweight do you think she is at 97 g and 6-7 weeks? Thanks in advance.

She could be anywhere from 50 to 120 g underweight depending on parental size. It is stunning how fast they get the weight back. At first, "go slow and stay low". Rule of thumb for serious to severe emaciation. I also tend to stay in the 5% range for feeding amount . Any pictures?

Thanks for the response. Last spring and fall I was inundated with much smaller hyperactive American Pine squirrels (reds) skewing my memory on what a gray squirrel's normal weight should be around 6-7 weeks.
The first photo is from the teens who found her. The second photo is when I got her home, warmed her up, and gave her warmed 1/2 strength "pedialyte". She curled up in fleece blankets and fell asleep on her back.
