Hey guys,
I read previous posts on teeth but didn't see any pictures I noticed today as maple was sleeping I could see her teeth and I'm wondering if her bottom teeth are too long? I tried to get some pics but they aren't the best pictures she tries to chew my fingers when I take pics lol. The reason I am concerned is bc her mouth never a seen fully closed I feel like I can always see her teeth. Also notice she seems to grrub her teeth together too? I've seen her chatter before but this seems different. That may be normal I'm just not sure so I wanted to double check with you guys.
Here are the pics I took sorry they aren't great

I can't really tell from the pictures. Here's a link with some good info on squirrel teeth.

Is there anyway you could get a clearer picture of her teeth? It's really hard to tell much from the pictures, but it almost looks like her bottom teeth might be too long. And her top teeth look pretty short as well but again, I'm not sure if it's just the picture that's making it look that way or not. I do find it odd that you say she never closes her mouth all the way - that doesn't sound normal to me.

Glad I found this forum - this little guy is about 10 weeks old (have had him that long) & doesn't seem to have upper teeth. I need to trim them I believe - advice needed please

Could be that the bottoms are so long they aren't letting the top grow? If he doesn't have top ones then he can't wear down the bottoms. Clipping them at that age isn't too bad because they are still so small. You may only need to clip them once and maybe that will allow the top teeth to grow. Hopefully then they may work themselves out.

Here's the link I used before trimming my lil guys teeth the first time. www.mary.cc/squirrels/trimteeth.htm Should have all of the information you need. I did find a video on youtube as well. I have to trim Sammy's bottom teeth about every 10 days or so. Neither of us like it too much.

Thank you - watched the video & successfully trimmed his teeth. Hoping their are top teeth that will grow in!
