Hi Everyone,
Dixie has taken to peeing in my tub, I noticed last night her urine is light red.
She drinks water, her diet consists of HHB- 2 a day, carrots, green beans, sugar peas, acorn squash, advocado, not every day-grapes, water melon, melon, cantelope, banana, oranges.
What could be wrong with her? Shes eating good, plays like a kitten with daggers. She is so spoilt. My hubby and myself are still her family. If one of us goes out of the room, shes freaking out until all 3 of us are back together.

Does she happen to have any chew toys that are red? I had that happen to one of my babies once with red tinged urine and it turned out that it was from chewing on a red wooden chew toy. Apparently the food coloring on it made her urine appear a little red. Is she still drinking water well?

Yes, she has several red chew toys...but she seems to be doing fine tonight. Her body figure looks like a pear now..shes got a belly and her butt is big, she's 7 months old, am I feeding her too much? She gets a block in the morning, then afternoon she gets 5-6 sugar peas, 5-6 green beans, a nice slice of acorn squash, 3-4 carrots sliced, a little spoon of advocado ( she loves it), slice of sweet potato, and evening she gets a block and fruit, either a piece of cantelope n melon, or some grapes..

Same thing happened to our PeeWee.
Her urine turned almost a blood red one day.
Turned out acorns can turn their pee that color.
The wife had brought in a branch with fresh acorns from a tree and she had eaten them causing the color.
It went away after one day.
Don't know if that may be a possibility for Dixie.

Since I read acorns are toxic, she doesnt get any.

Just my input. Fresh oak tree leaves will also make the urine red. I have seen it with my own eyes . Cranberries too.

Acorns are not toxic.
They are actually one of their most common food items in the wild.
There is a fungus that can grow in them that is.
You do have to be careful with them.
Many people cut them open to make sure they are fine.
Hope Dixie's pee pee is back to normal. :grin2
Avocado can make them fat.
Best to give in small amounts or treats IMO.
Man do they love it though!

On the food pyramid, it states acorns are toxic. I know in the wild they eat them, I just didnt want her to get a bad one and get sick...
So I shouldnt give her advacodo every day? That is the first thing she looks for on her plate...
