busted her lip

Fuzzbutt managed to wiggle free while getting medicated and ran smack into the cage door. She split her lip pretty good. It stopped bleeding and has closed. Her teeth look fine and her lip is a little swollen. Anything I should do for her or can I just watch for infection? It doesn't seem to have slowed her down and she's still eating hard treats like rodent blocks.

I'm not sure what the best advice is? I think you should monitor it for infection. You may need to check her teeth periodically, too. Sometimes trauma to the teeth area can cause problems down the road.

If she seems uncomfortable some infant ibuprofen may be in order, otherwise just watch it.

I went ahead and gave her some ibuprofen to bring down the swelling. She is still fine.
