Rose woke up this morning not her usual self. She played for a minute then crawled in my lap and just lay there falling asleep. Normally she's running around on her cat tree. She wouldn't drink her formula (which has been the norm for her and Scrappy for a few days in the morning) and she's not interested in her block. No audible clicking but her chest sounds like maybe she isn't breathing right. No falls or injuries that I know of. I just gave her a dose of colloidal silver and a full dose of Baytril and wrapped her in a robe with a warm rice buddy. What else can I do for her??? Is Baytril ok in case she has AP? When she had it when she was younger, she was obviously gasping and clicking but not now. Just doesn't sound "right" when I put my ear to her chest She didn't obviously aspirate yesterday like she did when she was little. My heart is breaking for her!!! She didn't even jump at the noise I was making when I had her in the kitchen with me making her antibiotics up! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Baytril is fine for AP.

Could Rose have gotten into any plants or chewing on an electric cord? Eating on an old acorn?

No. I have no plants in my house (black thumb here! Lol) except for an oak tree branch that they chewed on a few days ago and haven't been near it since. No acorns. She only gets her powdered Esbilac with a tiny bit of goats milk mixture and HHB's. I did just introduce Harlan-Teckland 18 blocks and my other 2 love them but she wasn't really interested but may have eaten a bit. She isn't bloated or anything and I never let them out to play unless I'm right there watching every move and they rarely venture from their cat tree, so I know she hasn't chewed on anything but the tree. I did spray a couple of corners with bitter apple spray yesterday, just thought of that! She nibbled some then ignored it. I hope Baytril does the job! I gave her a full dose according to her weight and the chart. Do I give her more tonight or just a split dose tomorrow morning and evening?

Should I try to give her some honey water since she hasn't eaten since around 11 last night? Or just let her be for a while longer?

Fluids can never hurt.

She just ate 4 cc of formula and nibbled a HHB a bit! Still not really active but I don't hear that weird sound in her chest now! Do I give her more antibiotics tonight?

If you gave her a full dose no! Tomorrow cut the (full) dose in half and dose her every 12 hrs
for at least 5 days.
Where did you get your dosing info from and is she being dosed according to (current) body weight?

Nancy sent me the chart and I dosed accordingly. I figured I shouldn't give her more tonight but just wanted confirmation, so thank you! She ate a little more formula and more block and she is running around now and her chest doesn't sound weird anymore! I am so relieved! She slept all day I was so worried!! The antibiotics worked fast thank goodness! I will keep her on Baytril for 5 days. Thanks for your help!

Your in good hands with Nancy. :great
I'm glad your little is feeling better. With many (not all) the antibiotics do work fast to show
improvement, an actual AP "click" can sometimes disappear within hours. Of course that does
not mean they are over it. Depending on the degree of AP 5 days is the very least they should
stay on it but I don't even know why I said that as I personally feel with aspiration pneumonia
they should stay on a course of Ab at least 7-10 days. I just feel it could make the difference
between gone and completely clear. Even a horse that's won the race has run past the finish line...
