My baby skinned her little nose! I don't know what she did to it, she was fine an hour ago when I fed her! There is a little flap of skin on her nose. It's still attached, but a litte swollen. I don't know what to do! I feel like I've failed her! She still seems happy and active, which I'm guessing is good.

You may wipe it down with a bit of saline, just to clean it a little. The puffiness should go away in a few hours.
Check over her living quarters to see if you can find any rough edges or pokey points.
She should be just fine.

I'd put a thin coat of ab ointment on it, watch it so that it is healing without infection.
The "flap" will either adhere and heal or scab and come off after the underside heals.
I'd also go check her cage carefully for any sharp areas, cage bars, etc, she may have
scraped herself on.

Thank you so much Milo's mom and Step-N-Stone! I was really worried about her. I'll clean her nose, put AB ointment on it and keep a close eye on it. I'll also check for anything that could be sharp or rough in her cage that she could have done it on.

It's looking worse. I put ab on it. I'm less than half way through an unavoidable 17 hour trip with her, and she's unsure about the whole thing and jumper than usual. I'm worried she won't grow any hair there and get sunburn when she's released.

I have a baby that had an injured spot on the top of his head as well as the bottom of his chin (that one was severe) and both are covered. The bottom one does have a little bit of a bare spot but the hair around it is long enough to cover it. So even if the entire area doesn't get hair back it will probably still be covered by the surrounding fur.
Precious lil baby you have there btw!

Covel - I am sharing the below pics with you to show you how well these guys heal. The little girl in these pics is named Grace...I raised her last year. She had what I thought was an absolutely horrific disfiguring facial injury. I was sure she would be disfigured for the rest of her life. The last pic is of the day I moved her to the outdoor release cage. She spent 3 weeks in the release cage and when the portal opened there was no sign that she had ever been injured. (I have to keep looking for her release day pics)

I'm not trying to make light of you being scared or worried. I just wanted you to see how amazing these little guys are. :great
Just keep some Triple antibiotic ointment on her (apply it a couple times a day) and she will be fine. :grouphug If it starts getting puffy and red and all angry looking we can address it then. I really think some Triple Antibiotic Cream for a week or so will do the trick.
