Hi everybody,
our boy Chippy had this problem (UTI) in Feb-Mar and the complication we had last time was the infected testicle. He was on antibiotic.
The testicle has healed and we had 2 weeks break. Today around 6 pm we've noticed that his penis is not looking right. It has a swollen part out (not the penis itself) and he can not pull it back in.
We have put on it antibiotic cream and started him on antibiotic (Bactrim) orally, as well.
Also we've put some coconut oil on it to prevent from drying up.

What else to do? Last time he had this swollen part come out, during the struggles to urinate, but it would always go back in within 30 sec.
We had suspicion about UTI being back because of the foul smell the urine had, - just like last time. It went away quite quickly
after we put him on antibiotic.
Please check out how it looks on the picture.
Thank you.

I suppose seeing a vet is not in the equation?
Bactrim is a slow acting ab. I would like to see other opinions on this but if I were to put
one of mine on an ab for a uti I would want one with proven better results for a uti and
with a better response time then Bactrim.

I have always given Baytril for UTI's...much faster results. Humans with UTI's are given Cipro, the human equivalent of Baytril.
