My girls share their room with a sweet bu stinky, intact male bunny. I have been using hay for his litter pans , thinking it's safer than cat litter (for both he and the bunny). But, it stinks! And with hot temps coming, it will be intensified I'm sure. Is there a safe material we could use that' safe for all, and would help with odor control? Thanks🐰🐰🐰!

I've been using Kaytee Clean & Cozy w/Lavender (think Carefresh without the damn baking soda) for the past 3 years and I REALLY like it.

The Clean & Cozy goez all over the bottom of them pan...maybe an inch thick, then his Timothy Hay goes on one side of the pan (maybe 1/4 of the pan)...he hops in eats his hay and poops in the litter. Once a week I dump it all in the trash, clean the pan with hot vinegar, dry it out, refill and we are good for another week.

Please DO NOT use Carefresh with Odor Control. They add baking soda and it is a respiratory irritant.

Great! Thanks, will get some ASAP - is that a brand that's only at say, Pet Smart? Where do you shop for it ? Should have neutered the bun, but seen some horrifying complications before from botched jobs.

I get it at That Fish Place - That Pet Place but they are local to me only (well and others in my general area :grin2 ) ...everyone else has to do mail order from them. Kaytee is pretty common so I would think that it would be available just about anywhere.

The Neutering...you should probably still have it done...just find a good bunny vet. Unaltered males are 80% more likely to develop some sort of reproductive system cancer, and they mark more, stink more, are more difficult to train, and they can get very aggressive for no obvious reason.

If you need some help finding a vet in your area, send me a PM with you general location (city, state) and I'll see if I can find a few options for you to interview.

Also saw something called Aspen Supreme; had anyone used this for rabbits that cohabitate with buns?

Yes, Aspen Supreme is safe. No pine and no cedar, ever.

Just make sure you clean it regularly, as stated on the package.

Great! As for the cubes...if you can hang tight for a bit longer I have several "Masterpieces ISO Forever Homes" that I need to photograph and post. Unless of course you'd like a specific pattern...

Oh, that sounds great! Send us a msg when they are ready; we'll wait for them! The girls each need their own. Bunny has his own cozy log "cave"..
