Hello i have two baby squirrels estimated to be between 9-11 weeks old. one female and one male. i have been weaning them and recently put a water bottle in their cage, i showed them how to use it and they took to it very well, i was watching her use the water bottle and she got some in her nose i took the water bottle away so she could recover. now she seems somewhat lethargic and she sneezes every so often even in her sleep, i'm worried it could possibly be pneumonia.

First off, DON'T wean them off of formula. We keep them on as long as they'll take it
as it's the BEST insurance against Metabolic Bone Disease.
Can you post a picture of your little ones.
It would seem unusual for one to aspirate from a water bottle at this age, though
it could be possible.
Do you have access to either Baytril (animal antibiotic) or Cipro (Human Antibiotic)
OR Clavaxox or Augmentin.
All you will need in one pill, and the weight of the squirrel in grams.
We're not even sure this is necessary at this point.
Is she staying hydrated?
Is she clicking when she breathes?
Can you tell us EXACTLY what she eats daily, and which formula she was raised on.
Diet can lead to lethargy too.

its mostly been them weaning themselves, they are just not interested in formula that much anymore, i started them off on puppy milk because that all i could get at that time, i switched them to fox valley. I introduced them to rodent block by kaytee, then fresh green beans, after that carrots and strawberries. each time i would see if it gave them diarrhea it didnt thankfully each food i introduced them to, i did it one at a time and would wait a few days before introducing them to something else. She is hydrated i checked her skin between her shoulders it falls right back down. There is no clicking noise as of yet. I have been talking to a vet and he is checking into getting me some Baytril if i feel that i will need it. I could be just overreacting but i dont want to lose this baby. I felt that at this age she should not have aspirated but with her acting lethargic now, i cant help but think she could have possibly. I have been caring for them now for 3 weeks
on the left is the male, on the right my female this was taken two day ago before had her moment with the water bottle.
