Not sure if this is life threatening. Looking for some help, Charlie's chin is very swollen and red. He is very very calm and lathargic. He keeps acting like he is eating something in his hands. Like he has something in his mouth. He just wants to lay in my hands and hold on to my fingers very tight. And charlie never sits still during the day. he is drinking alot of water. he ate his food this morning. He is approx. 7 months old.

Could he have gotten a spider bite on his chin? Has he eaten anything different?

What is his regular diet?

Love those foxers!!!

Have you checked his teeth to make sure there is nothing going on from the inside?
From the outside it does appear it could be an insect bite which should reside in a
day or two, I'm sure it's uncomfortable poor baby. A diluted iodine wash would help
to keep it disinfected and you could offer him some infant ibuprofen to help with any
pain, swelling and or inflammation he is or could be dealing with. You would need a
weight on him for dosing the Ib.

Update on Charlie. Well today his swelling has gone down. The redness is gone. He has a pretty good size scab on his lower lip/chin. Thankfully he has his energy back. He is still sensitive to eating hard items. So he didnt eat good today. So hopefully he will improve more tomorrow.
Thank you to all who reaponded. I still don't know what happen to cause this. I'm just thankful he seems to je getting better.
