Scrappy Do and Girl are 2 weeks old today! I've had a time getting them hydrated after the cardboard box fiasco! They are looking better today and gaining a bit of weight. I am feeding them formula (5-7% body weight of ebsilac puppy with probiotic) then 1 1/2 hr later I am feeding about half that in honey water. Here is how I am calculating time:

Feed at just say, 5 am. Feeding, pooping/peeing, cleaning takes approx 30 minutes. So I am finished by 5:30 am. Next feeding is honey water at 7 am.

That is actually 2 hours from beginning on one feeding to beginning of next. Should I do this instead:

Feed formula at 5 am, pee/poop/clean and end at 5:30. Give water at 6:30...etc?

I have had a time getting them hydrated again! They look pretty good this morning. I will post pics as soon as my slooooow internet decides to cooperate!

Thank you!

At this point, it seems like they should be hydrated. If they are pooping and peeing properly, I would just go to regular formula feedings. Do the hydration only if you REALLY think they need it. Feed formula 3 hours apart and see how they do.

They look much better than they did, that's for sure! Is it hard to tell on 2 wk old babies (unless obviously dehydrated)? I keep doing the "tent test" but it's hard because they move around so much! lol

The poop isn't completely yellow yet, it's brownish. Is that ok?

Thanks for your help!

Oh! Do I feed at 12 o'clock then 3 o'clock? Or start my time from when they are fed, cleaned, and back in their box? It takes me 30 min to feed/clean. Ty!
