I was given these beauties on Feb 13th to rehab. They are starting to get fuzz on their heads. About how old would you say they are? I am feeding every 2 hours around the clock with one 3 hr stretch after their 9 pm feeding. Is that acceptable? Thank you!284908284909

How much do these little ones weigh?
How much are you feeding.
Do they still have the little black umbilical cord dot?
I would guesstimage ~12-14 days old.

I just checked and the little dot is gone! I looked at the pics I took yesterday and it was still there. As of this morning, the boy weighs 20.8 g and the girl 21.7. They are eating anywhere from 5-7% of their body weight every 2 hours. One or two feedings a day they will not eat that much though. I just noticed today also that they have little hairs sticking up on their heads that I did not notice yesterday, but they were slicked down a bit with emu oil. lol

Would that still be about 14 days old? Thanks for your help! :)

They lose that little dot at ~ 10 days old. SO, lets call them 11 days old. :)
Squirrelsandmore used to have photos of the little ones ages, but I can't seem
to find the pictures anymore when I go to their site. :(
Is the milk line still there when you're ready to feed?
If it is, you can wait a little longer ~ 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

Wow! So they were only about 2 days old when I got them! Scary! lol

I have seen it when I feed them sometimes but didn't put two and two together. I'll give them extra time to digest next time I see it. Thank you so much for your help!

Did you have a weight on them when you first got them?
