Hello,

So my Little is about 5.5 months old. She has been released for about a month and a half and lives outside, running around all day, coming back every now and then for treats. Sometimes she sleeps out in the world and sometimes she sleep in her box on my balcony. I don't really now what all she eats out in the world, but I know she gets squirrel block, peanuts and grapes from me.

Last night I went to say good night and give her a night peanut, when I noticed she had a runny nose. It is clear and she sneezes/coughs through her nose. I checked her teeth and her bottom teeth did seem a little long, but I'm not sure how long is long. I will try and take a picture when she comes around again. I thought at first maybe she had a bad fall (I've experienced raising a little one that had fallen on their nose and made a similar expelling sneeze sound, but Little is very agile and the liquid coming from her nose was clear so I figured not).

She is acting completely normal other than that. running around, eating, (I haven't seen her drink). This morning I gave her her squirrel block and she at it normally and then went running into the trees. At first, much like a person when they first wake up there was no sneezing and then when she started moving around she started again.

I can't really say if there have been changes to her diet or anything as she is out of my care since she is free. She still lets me interact with her which is why I even noticed her nose.

We live in Los Angeles, and the weather has been anywhere from 70 to 45. and rainy sometimes. Yesterday it was clear 70 during the day dropping to 50 at night. The day before it was rainy and 45ish. But because it's been like that for the past month and Little only just now seemed to have something it might be the teeth.

There is a good squirrel population around here, but she mostly keeps to herself. She is familiar with a "brother" that was raised around the same time, but they don't really stay together and only tolerate each other for treats. He is fine.

Anyways, sorry for the rambling, just trying to give as much info as possible. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Also please let me know how long teeth should be and how I should cut them if they end up being too long.

She sounds like a great little, wild friend.:w00t I suppose that squirrels might get some respiratory infections like the human equivalent of colds? If you could get a photo of her teeth, that would be really helpful in ruling out that issue. It sounds like she is eating fine, can she open up a hard shelled nut (ie a walnut)?

No weight loss, overall looks healthy?

No weight lose that I can tell, when I was inspecting her last night I gave her a few peanuts and she ate all of them so her appetite is good, although this morning she took off a little quicker than normal before eating all her treats. But she was a runt and I can always tell her apart from the other squirrels because she long and lean.

She can open hazelnuts and pecans and I believe she can open walnuts, but she usually hides those when I give them to her.
