So I changed Ticks formula from that awful petlac to the Esbilac powder kind this morning. After a couple of feeding he did great so I went ahead and did a full strength feeding. No diarrhea so I'm guessing it was Ok. The problem is.. When I changed it a few hours later I noticed a change in his urinating habit. He usually soaks a qtip and I have to dab him up with a tissue. Now I can't get anything out of him and I'm terrified he's gonna get sick or die.. Is this normal or could this be another problem? I did substitute a feeding for 1cc of just plain water about 45min to an hr ago.. Still not even a drip :(

Make sure that he isn't "self sucking" so that there's a scab forming on his penis.
I would think you would easily see that though.
Could he be urinating on his own in his bedding? Feel around for any wet spots.
Make sure that you are making the formula with 1 part powdered formula to 2 parts
HOT water. Make this ahead of time, and let it sit in the refrig for about 6-8 hours.
Always stir or shake well before using.
Some people will make formula ahead and put it in ice cube trays and freeze after
it's sat in the refrig. Then the night before, defrost one or two cubes, for the following day.
You can do water hydration in between feedings as well.
We don't substitute formula feedings, we do hydration feedings in between formula feedings.
Keep him on the same formula feeding schedule, just add the hydration feeding in between.
How much is your little one taking, and what is his weight?

No there hasn't been any scabbing on his penis. He weighs about 31g and eats 1-1.5 cc. Depending on how much he wants. And I didn't know about leaving it in the fridge to set for a period of time. While another batch sits in the fridge is there an amount I can feed him until then?
It is possible he is urinating on his own because what little comes out is clear and doesn't have an odor. But he is only 3 weeks so I'm not exactly sure that's what happening .

It is possible that he's urninating on his own, but we don't want to "count" on that.
Do a couple of hydration feedings in between formula feedings.
There are some that don't let it sit, they make it up and feed.
I think it dissolves better if it sits longer.
I always make large batches and freeze them, it works out great.
When I'm on my last batch, I make more, let it sit in the refrig and
then freeze.
SO you can feed him with what you have now,
and in the future, let it sit in the refrig.
Clear pee is good, as yellow or darker could be a sign of dehydration.

Here is a couple pics of his belly as well. Does he look bloated? His tummy doesn't really feel bloated. He also has this blackish purple looking thing on the left side of his stomach which I think may be the spleen??
