Splinter is 14 weeks old he eats 3 Henry's healthy pet blocks a day and lots of fresh green veggies. He still accepts milk at night so I have been giving it to him still. Last night we heard a little popping in his breathing but it wasn't every breath and he stopped popping after a minute or so. Today he seemed fine but tonight after his milk he is popping again and it seems like he is wheezing. He weighs 16.2 ounces and until now seemed very healthy. The only antibiotic I have on hand is amoxicilin 500 mg. I attached a video but you can't hear the popping much. There's no drainage from his little nose and the lethargy is probably because we are about 4 hours past his bedtime at this point. He was very playful earlier.

Hold him up to your ear and listen. Do you hear a clicking sound with every breath? In the EMERGENCY section on this thread is a video of what the pneumonia clicking sounds like. View that and see if Splinter sounds like the squirrel in the video.
I believe amoxicillin will work if you find that Splinter has pneumonia, but someone with more experience than myself will have to dose.
Hang in there.

We hear a popping loud enough to hear even away from our ears and when you put him close to your there is a wheeze, but it isn't as bad as the video and wasn't noticed until right before bed both last night and tonight. He is sleeping near a humidifier tonight until we can figure out doseage or decide if he even needs an antibiotic. Thank you so much for your help!

While giving his formula has there been any aspiration?

He stuck his entire face in the bowl the formula was in and came up sneezing maybe 4 days ago. Could that cause aspiration? This morning he seems normal. I don't hear any popping or clicking and no signs of labored breathing. I can occasionally hear the slightest whistle when he breath and occasionally a dull pop almost like he is congested. He slept with the humidifier until 2am when I got up to check on him.

I can't get the video I took of him to post on here, I'll keep trying. I will be home from work in a few hours, praying I find a healthy little squirrel.

Sometimes my rescue makes a lil noise when sleeping or settling. I freaked out. But after listening to a video of a squirrel with phenomena it was nothing like it. They make some other type of clicking. Its almost like settling.
