Hey guys, I'm looking to see if you guys have any plans for an awesome squirrel house or if you've purchased one from somewhere that your squirrels love? I would like to put another out on the property but it'll be right outside my kitchen window so I'd like something I can watch them get in and out of. I have one in a tree by the bedroom and my wild loves that one, but unfortunately, with the wind and storms we've had this year, it's barely hanging on and I'm afraid if we go mess with it, she will get scared and not go back to it?

Any pics, plans or ideas on how to better secure the current one without displacing the squirrel would be much appreciated!

I would recommend you look up "Nuts About Squirrels" ....... he builds great houses that last and awesome feeders.

In case you are handy, here is a link to a fairly simple box.

Yes...and with a simple design you can add all kinds of obstructions at the entrance to deter long armed predators :great

Here's a few different ones we've done....it just depends what type of scrap wood we have lying around :crazy1

Here's one I got my dad to build for me... I built another one with a heater!
These are huge pics and turned sideways too but I don't know how to correct it.

I definitely recommend using deck screws to build it because they seem to keep the houses together better/longer than regular wood screws or nails.

The idea of hanging the nest box in the tree with eye hooks is brilliant. It can be removed easily with those. Brilliant!
