Hello, we found a baby squirrel in our living room yesterday. Not sure if the culprit was the dog or the cat, but he/she appears otherwise unharmed. Baby has fur and eyes open and seems to be in decent shape. Tried to give it some homemade Pedialyte mix with an eyedropper, but didn't seem particularly interested.

I know I can't keep this sweet creature, and would love some help finding someone experienced to take him/her before I do harm out of inexperience!

(I've tried posting a picture but I'm currently on my phone and can't seem to figure it out!)

I have sent a message to a member in Florida who may know of someone in your area. You can text a pic to me at 203 214-7427 and I will post it.

Just got this from a very reliable source -- this is a good facility that works with qualified rehabbers and DOES NOT euthanize:
. They can take the baby to Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service on the northeast corner of Florida and Bearss Avenues in Tampa. They are open 24 hours a day for dropping off wildlife.

I have a couple of messages out to members in the area also. Let me know if it goes to the vet.

I have someone who can take the baby as long as you can bring it to her. Is that possible?

I am in Temple Terrace/ Brandon area. If you would like to meet me somewhere I can take the baby. Or depending on your area I can pick up. Please let me know. Text messages are easiest.

Thank you for your offer, but we've already found someone willing to help.

Thank you everyone for the help. I've sent a member a PM, waiting on a response. If I don't get a message back, I will try and take him to that vet on Bearss.

It figures that the day I was waiting on a response, I forget my phone when I left for school! I got home, and the little baby had knocked the lid off the box. Been tearing the house apart, finally just found him at the top of the curtains on the curtain rod. What a day!

Will update once I've gotten him into more experienced hands.

The person who I recommended is very good and will take the baby now. Can you drive to No. Lakeland?

Yes, Lakeland is only about 20 minutes away, and I grew up in Lakeland, so I'm fairly familiar with the area.

Do you have the contact info (phone number) for the member who is taking this little one?

SO we have a squirrel

she is a she

and she is a FLYER!!!

Good Job saving this little baby! She looks a little dehydrated and definitely a little thin, nothing some good ole fashioned TLC wont fix up :) had to change the cage a lil to suit a flyer but it is all good

so the big question

do i keep it or find it a home lol. we have two flyers now so imo what is one more??
