Hi all, we've had this `little guy for 3 weeks today. He had been eating raw goats milk for 2 weeks, then we learned he needed to be on the Esbilac milk replacer. He's getting 4 CC every meal, which is every 4-5 hours, which we're diligently cutting back to 2-3 hours after learning we were following bad information. This is our first young flying squirrel, I've raised older flyers before, but not babies.
He's gaining weight well, he is also eating 1 henry's flyer block a day. But I'm a bit concerned that his tail isn't filled out and looks a bit bare? I also don't know how old he really is, as his family was killed by cats, and he was found abandoned. (He however was uninjured) . At what age should I start offering him vegetables with his flyer block? Also, does this look normal? Am I doing something wrong? How old would you say he is?
Thanks a bunch.

You mention "Esbilac milk replacer," since there are different products of esbilac are you using powered not
canned and is this (below) the one you are using?

Sounds like you are getting your little guy off to a better start. Make sure the Esbilac you have is the powder kind with Probiotics and that you are feeding every 3 hours at 5-7% of body weight.
Once he has accepted the hhb as part of his routine daily diet for a few weeks then you can start to add in fresh vegetables with limited fruits and a nut or two.
I would place his age to be around 2.5 to 3 months old..... and it looks as though his tail should feather out as his diet improves.

I was careful to get the powder, with the whey protein in it, even thpugh it did not say added probiotics.
He was estimated 6 weeks when I brought him home 3 weeks ago. So still on the right track, 9 weeks ish now to make the 2.5 months.
He is now drinking his formula on his own, from a bottle cap. Is That alright or should i put him back at the syringe? He isn't sneezing 9rnanything, and i measure the amount first. :)
Sounds good, but he doesnt look dangerously mnouroshed or I'll? He has started running around hos box at night, he is in his container, half on his heat pad, next to my bed and wakea me up running around :)

Please make sure you have the correct Esbilac..... look at the pic above, is that the one you have? --if not you need to get it for the health and well being of your squirrel.
Your baby looks good atm and his fur should improve as his diet improves over the up coming weeks. Him drinking out of a bottle cap or bowl is fine as long as he does not sneeze or aspirate while doing it.

Sorry, I forgot to add that id /does/ say added prebiotic and probiotics. I was careful to find that. *
Sounds good, I was worried about that. How many, max, squirrel blocks a day? 1, correct?
Thanks again! I always love, and appreciate the generosity and understanding of this community. :)
