I'm new to the forum and most grateful there is one for squirrels. I need help. I recently moved out to the Canyon Lake are in Texas and while driving this morning, a squirrel ran into my front car tire. He is conscious, but was and is bleeding from his nose and is breathing labored. I brought him home and have been attempting to care for him, but I don't know what to do. If anyone can assist with giving me a direction to care for him, I would greatly appreciate it.

Poor little guy, thank you for caring enough to take him in. He needs to be somewhere dark and quiet. Do you have a cage you can put him in with perhaps some fleece to hide himself in so he can feel a little safer? I'm sure he could really use something for the pain too - do you perhaps have any Tramadol or Metacam? Really one pill is all you would need. If not, even infant ibprophen would be better then nothing. Is he moving around at all? You could also give him a little shallow dish of water or if he can't get to it himself, perhaps you could even syringe feed him some juice. Not sure if we have any members close to your area, but hoping some help can be found. Hoping the the little guy will be ok.
