Good evening,
We are currently caring for a 7-8 week gray squirrel that my dog found in the backyard and tried to make friends with. After trying to put him back into the tree and reunite him with his mama, he fell out and we have been caring for him ever since.

We rehydrated him and he's been on Ebsilac since Sunday and has done well with it, and has started to eat a little bit of solid food. However, last night I started noticing the clicking sound that seems to be an indicator of pneumonia. He clicks every time he breathes. He's still eating well, but he seems lethargic.

I currently have 3 amoxicillin pills (250 mg each) and I was wondering if I could somehow get them started into his system? He weighs 185 g as of yesterday. I read on another post that if I crushed up a 500 mg pill and mixed it with water, I could give this to him in very small doses, followed by some yogurt. Since my pill is 250 mg, how much should he get, how often, and for how long? My boyfriend is going to call around to the local vets tomorrow to see if we can get some of the other antibiotic that's been recommended here (Baytril) but I wanted info on the amoxicillin just in case we are unable to find a vet to help us.

Thanks in advance!
