I have an 11- 12 week old Eastern Gray who has been doing phenomenal. I received him from animal control at 3 weeks old. Fell from a tree and mom rejected him. He had a busted up face, a bloody nose for 5 days, URI, and a broken lower incisor which has grown back normally. Upper incisors started to slowly grow at 6 weeks.
Just recently, i noticed his upper incisors were not growing as they should. They poked through the gums a bit but never grew past that. About 2-3 days ago they seemed shorter, and yesterday i only noticed one. This morning i checked his mouth and there are NO upper incisors at all. I push on his gums and he is not painful.
His diet is mainly esbilac, softened rodent block, and some soft vegetables.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have rehabbed many squirrels and have never seen this. Thank you

Probably a far shot, but could you post pics of where his teeth used to be?

Sorry i am new to this forum, no idea how to reply or post the right way, but i posted the pic. If you can see, (it was hard to take with one hand lol) but theres a little gap you can see where the tooth was.

Got it! Honestly, I have no clue....
Have you considered an xray?

I am going to try today at my work. May not work out so well trying to keep him still, but we'll see!

When you massage his upper gums...do you feel the root,or the stump of any tooth?
Oh please post the x ray if you can. I'm interested in knowing if his injuries damaged the blood supply to that area or something.
Hope everything else is great. He sure is cute!

Occasionally. I believe the roots are still there because his teeth continue to grow and break off, this has been going on for the past few weeks. Right now his left incisor is growing in but i dont expect it to stay.

Very hard to get a lateral xray without him being sedated, he cannot sit still! Otherwise, he is doing amazing. You should see his coat is quite beautiful. I will keep everyone updated

I'm having a similar issues with my boy. One of his top teeth broke off at the gum line, then about a week later one of the bottom teeth just disappeared. The top one is growing back in fine and looks pretty normal now. Still no sign of the bottom one. Did you ever figure out anything with your baby? I don't have access to a vet near where I am.
