Peepers just came down out of the oak tree and into the RC for a big drink of water. While I was in the RC with him, and after he had his big drink, he came over to me and I picked him up. He didn't struggle and snuggled up for a minute. Then he jumped to one of the corner platforms and threw up, at least 4 times. It was white/tannish looking with digested something in it. When I saw he was acting odd and then got sick, I closed the RC so he is inside now. I thought I should get some advice and keep him contained for a little while so I could observe him. Any advice anyone?

You did the right thing containing him. Squirrels don't throw up for fun and giggles the way cats do; they only throw up for very good reasons. He may simply have eaten something that didn't agree with him, but by containing him you can make sure that it's a one-time thing and not serious. I would offer him fluids and see if everything stays down. :great

Thank you, yes he has lots of cool water. I haven't seen him drinking recently, but he had been curled up on top of his fleece cube after it happened, which was unusual. That was about an hr ago, and since then he has been moving around and has eaten a piece of shelled walnut, half a block, a small piece of banana and a piece of avocado. It seems that he's feeling better, but I will keep him contained for awhile longer to be sure. Scared the crap out of me, because I know they don't throw up for the fun of it. :grin3. Thank you, again, for responding.

Should I let him out this evening or keep him contained till morning? He doesn't seem to be anxious at all about being in the RC. Nibs has come around on the outside of the RC and they've sniffed each other, but Peeps is working on eating a palm seed so he doesn't seem to care what Nibs is doing on the outside of the RC. I should mention that Peeps sleeps in the box over the RC in the oak tree. Nibs goes off to the neighbors yard to sleep. I mention this because I don't think Peeps would be distressed if he had to stay in the RC overnight, if that was necessary.

Nibs isn't eating a Sago palm seed is he?
They are poisonous to squirrels.

No, I don't think either have eaten any sago palm seeds, that I'm aware of. Peeps seems to be feeling better. He ate a little watermelon and is just hanging out in the RC. Should I open the door and let him out tonight or keep him till morning?

Personally if you think he wants out I would open the door. If he's content I would let him stay.
Just go out first thing in the morning so he doesn't feel trapped.
Watch, he'll be sleeping like a log. :)

I let Peeps out. Nibs kept coming around and seemed more distressed that Peeps was in the RC then Peeps seemed. But they are happiest together, so Peeps is out to play with Nibs before they go to their separate beds for the night. Whatever he had that upset his tummy he must have been able to rid himself of it. He seems fine now. Thank you for everyone's advice and support.
