Local fostercare for orphans gave me two grey to care as they are very overwhelmed. It has been eight years since I have done this and never had diarrhea in mine. The female has such a bad case it is just running out. I have given her plain yogurt in her formula, no response. She has lost 15% of her weight in three days (100g now 85g) Estimate six weeks old.Yesterday started adding baby Jarro-Dophilus one drop in 30cc formula Fox 32/40 and a squirt of organic babyfood banana/squash. I've never used pedialyte and think this may be necessary in her case? It's getting scary. Any ideas? Thank you ahead

Yes, absolutely on the pedialyte and IMMEDIATELY. They need to have constant additional hydration the entire time they are having diarrhea. You can give pedialyte as additional hydration for the first day but then I would switch to plain water or water with just the tiniest touch of honey in it. They need to consume enough to relace the volume they are losing through poop and as well as what they would normally drink, so if it is pouring out the back end you need to be putting it in the front end in equal amounts!
I would immediately ALSO stop the Fox Valley 32/40. It was THE go to formula for the little ones a few years ago and then they changed their formula. It normally results in them being unable to digest it at all, not diarrhea, but given the ENORMOUS problems we had with it over the last several years I would NEVER suggest 32/40. Happily, the POWDERED Esbilac for puppies IMPROVED their product at about the same time. I would strongly suggest you change formulas.

Be sure to gradually change to Esbilac or the diarrhea could get even worse.
Another thing that helps diarrhea is adding a bit of Gerber RICE cereal to the formula. It seems to work every time and it's drug free.
