I've been battling these bugs for weeks now, and my husband actually found a solution ! The girls have a large porch/habitat . But, I keep a cat condo out there with doors open so bunny can come in and out of the bottom to eat his food ant-free. We placed four cardboard pieces under each of the four wheels of the cage- coated heavily in vasaline. The ants will not touch it- it's not poison, they just sense it's not safe I guess? This way I can put his greens and fruit etc in the bottom floor, and my squirrel girls' foods on the top of the cage on their table cloth . Any branch that extends to the top of the cage, likewise has a lubed piece of paper plate under the point of contact between the limbs and cage surface . Working great! Just have to monitor the wheels- if a leaf or anything gets blown to the vasaline coated paper, they will use as a bridge. Just wanted to pass an all natural solution along; the ants have been terrible here!
