My Little 6-7 week old who had lots of problems with his legs (i.e. I think they were broken or malformed when I got him, he was cat caught, and he had limited mobility with them, he had no feeling in toes and mostly used legs to scoot or push off but didn't really use them normally), Unfortunately now he is chewing them off. It has gotten really bad, open wounds and such and he's split open the base of his tail. It looks really awful and I feel terrible for him! I've been doing betadine flushes for him and attempting to wrap them but it's terrible, I can't manage to wrap it in anyway to make it stay on and it is incredibly difficult to wrap him in such a way he is still able to go to the bathroom. He is acting completely normal/eating well but I do know he must be in pain even if parts of his legs don't have any feeling so I'd also like to get some infant ibuprofen (liquid kind) dosing for him. He weighs around 80 grams (I'll get an exact weight on him in the morning). I just don't know what can be done and even if I do get his legs wrapped good and they heal up, what's to stop him from chewing them again? I knew he was going to be an NR and I was in the process of trying to find a home for him because of his limited leg mobility, but now this is a whole new problem and is going to make finding a forever home for him extremely difficult. On top of all this the 9 week old girl who I thought was recovering well from her initial head trauma is having trouble sitting up while eating, she falls over, and so now she'll probably end up being an NR as well. I am at a complete loss for what to do for these babies, I feel completely inadequate for their needs, any advice helps.

Have either of these babies seen a vet or been on medication for their injuries? If not we need to take care of this matter right away. I feel the one with the injured legs may be in pain, hence why it is now chewing on its already wounded legs, plus we need to get some antibiotics going.

No vet even remotely around here will see them :shakehead the little boy was on AB's for 2 weeks because he was cat caught and was originally on Pain meds for his broken legs when they were healing, but after they formed calcium casts and healed up as normally as they would I took him off of them. Little girl has not had any steroids for head trauma if that is what you're asking, I made several posts about her neurological issues when I first got her and was under the impression that those meds could only be given not too long after the trauma took place. It has been many many weeks since then, and she has improved a lot but not completely. As for pain meds for the boy I have infant ibuprofen and also tramadol.

You can give Infant Motrin / 100 grams @ .025 cc (every 4 hours) for pain

I have 50 mg/1.25 mL Infant ibuprofen, does that change anything?

No, that does not change any thing....... Motrin is Ibuprofen.
Give it @ .025cc - every 4 hours (PRN - Pain)
Question........ Was the female given Metacam in the beginning for her head injury?

Thanks I'm starting him on it, and No I got her several days after she originally fell from the tree, she was only 2 weeks old so it wasn't until several weeks later that she started exhibiting signs of head trauma (balance issue, sometimes fell to one side, occasionally walked in circles) and at that point i was under the impression that metacam would no longer be useful...
