Hi Everyone, :grouphug
Because I've always been known in my part of the woods as the "Squirrel Doyenne", I've had to severely restrict publicizing my services. At one point I had 13 pinkies at one time! In fact: I developed a very painful condition called "piriformis syndrome" from sitting on the floor for HOURS per day feeding baby squirrels. The condition caused me to have to stop riding horses for a couple of years. I was forced to build a very pricy outdoor enclosure to house all 13 babies when they got older because I only had 4 double decker cages at the time. Anyway, with the loss of my beloved Daisey and Chewy, for the first time in many years I find myself without at least one or two squirrels to dote on... and tearful with a heavy heart - after 40 years I had decided to remove myself from the "Squirrel Doyenne" position permanently. With that decision, my heart got even heavier... and I couldn't breathe. Then I realized that squirrels are a part of my life, and my world and I couldn't walk away. So, my name once again reigns at the top of the list at the UGA veterinary school of medicine, as well as every wildlife vets office within 100 miles of me, and with the Department of Natural Resources! I am recruiting helpers as I write this! My name likely will not stay at those places long because I still work full time but I intend to help all that I can!
Peace be with you!
