:sniff I had a squirrel that was about 6 and a half weeks old and while I had him I was waiting on formula to get here and would do the salt and sugar thing and would feed him grapes and up until this saturday he was fine and healthy but then he would sleep a lot and started lifting his head back in an odd way and couldn't really balance or control his legs or he'd have control for a little while then lose it. He later died in my hands that night and I just want to know what happened that caused a perfectly healthy baby squirrel to die that night. Please help me this really upsets me and I've been crying every night since he died.https://www.instagram.com/p/BJrxAsXD4LuUVGqB3YZ2B84384VXqyNBD5XQJQ0/?taken-by=_jo_martinez_

How long did you have him on the salt/sugar mix? It sounds like he was having seizures. I am very sorry for your loss.

It sounds like he was having seizures.
Why....can't say for certain.
Mamma squirrel knows when these babies
are less than perfect and will throw them
out of the nest. The ugly truth of nature.

There are really no words to ease the pain
of the loss of these precious little lives.
Just know that here on TSB so many have
experienced what your going through
and feel your pain.

How old was this baby when it came into your care? What kind of condition was it in?
How much did it weigh? How long did you have it? Answers to these questions might help us to figure out what happened.

:Cry I'm SO sorry.
Just a word of caution.
I wouldn't feed grapes to a little one.
They need to be peeled and the little white center,
should be taken out.
These both are chocking hazards.
