got 2 new baby girls in- mostly just skinny, dehyrdrated but also covered in fly eggs. As I was scrapping away, live ones came out of ones rectum. Then of course, a couple in an eye. *I hate maggots* I have capguard and nexguard. Which should I use and how much on a 4 week old already under stress?

I don't think Nexguard is used for squirrels. Do you mean you have Capstar? You need capstar. Once you have it, let us know the strength nd we can help you to dose it. It is urgent!

I hope you got the dosing for cap guard. I do not know how to dose this med, but have read how well it works. Good luck with these little ones. :hug

I'm so sorry it took so long! Take 1/4 tablet, crush and add 2cc water. Dose .25 per baby and use the rest to flush areas that have maggots. Physically remove all of those that you can remove.

Hi Tai,

How are those babies today? Maggots are so deadly. Hope those precious babies made it.:grouphug

They're recovering it seems. :) Very lethargic but who knows how long they were exposed. No wounds on either so I'm thinking the maggots came from something else (mom?) dead in the nest and they finally got desperate enough to get help. Got the family who found them looking for any others. I'm not sure but I think their eyes may have been forced open, one from the maggots, but not sure why the other ones is. 277293277294

If you have ANY questions, feel free to dose them again. They can be dosed once a day - it is so mild (to the animal) that there is no danger of that.
