Something is going on in Champ's mouth. There's infection in there. I smell it even if I can't see it. What should I start him on. Vets are closed of course!

Pat I'd pm Hrt4sqrls or NINY and see what they recommend. I just had a throat infection and was given doxycyclinefor the first time ever. It worked well, but was advised to take on an empty stomach and it made me a little nauseated. I'm not sure what abs you have and I'm sorry I couldn't help any further.

I think a safe bet would be to start him on Clavamox.
Do you have Clindamycin?
He had head trauma Pat, I wonder if his teeth
are out of whack, can you see if they are too long?
Can you post a picture if they're questionable.

As always, Nancy knows! For mouth issues, I am pretty positive that HRT has said Clavamox. :Love_Icon

Friend contacted the vet for her special needs squirrel. Vet gave me amoxicillen and dosed it. So that's onboard now. Is that OK? I wantd to get something for n as soon as I realized hat that smell was. Sorry I couldn't get back here earlier--hubby had classes all day and iPad was home. Champ ate his dinner--formula and some rice cereal. I gave him some babyfood earlier and his tummy is wonky. Back to pablum. I do have Clindamycin. His teeth are a mess. His lower teeth were sideways. Clipped them the other night. They were ready to savage the roof of his mouth. I'll try to get a pix. Not easy to look in that teeny mouf.
