Does anyone know if milk bone dog biscuits are bad for squirrels? Barkley, who is about eight years old now, loves them.

It looks like they have a 1:1 calcium phosphorus ratio but there's not much of either in them... only 1/2 of 1%. They do have a good amount of A, D and E though. There are other things in them that I'm just not sure about. I don't think they're necessarily "BAD" for him but I can't say they're "good" for him either. Sorry, maybe someone else can tell you more. But you must being doing something right judging by his age!! :Love_Icon

LOL, yea he's the gift that keeps on giving. He stole a milk bone from the dogs one day, and ever since, he wants them. At least they keep his teeth down a bit.

:grin2 Well I guess they certainly haven't hurt him any and he does love them. I would be interested to see if anyone else's squirrel has eaten them and if so, did your's love them like Barkley?

I don't think they will hurt him. There are these vegetarian dog biscuits which I used to be able to get at my local Petco that my squirrels LOVED. They came in sweet potato flavor and had lots of calcium but low phosphorous.....if I can think of the name I'll post it. My squees took to them much more readily than to rodent block, so I went with it!

EDIT: I remembered :oldwise ! It was the Halo brand.
