I have an 4-5 week old who has been doing great, gaining weight (96 grams), and eating wonderful, but I have started to notice this last week as she moves around more that she has terrible balance, wobbles often when walking, sometimes backs up in a circle, and often leans to one side when eating/falls over to that side when walking. I began to wonder whether she might have some neurological issues because she did fall from a tree when I first got her 3 weeks ago. I watched a video on here of a neuro baby and she walks very similar to him, except she does fall slightly less now than she used to...still wobbles a ton though. I don't know what to do as its been awhile since the initial injury and I don't know if anything can be done, but I've never had any babies with neurological issues advice would be appreciated. Can they get better? Can anything be done to improve their balance?

I had one like that named Chandy. She had also fallen from the nest, had severe head trauma and when I got her they had been feeding her kaopectate and pet milk. I honestly didn't think she would last the night she was in such bad shape. She was very wobbly and would fall over backwards when she tried to sit up to eat. I did think she would be a NR for the longest time. Between a healthy diet and lots of play time with her cage mates she overcame it. I do think there are some meds that others can recommend that might help. Just sending :grouphug and best wishes for your little one.

Would something like metacam even be helpful at this point? I don't know anything about meds for head trauma I've just seen that name thrown around here. I don't have any currently but I could get ahold of some if I thought it might be needed, but I'm not sure how effective it would be considering its been quite awhile since she got the initial head trauma?

Minaluvri. Just wanted to say I understand because I am in the same boat. I plan on doing what ALittleNutty said and taking great care of her and see what happens. And I have also been pouring over all of the posts I can find here. This site is a life saver! Best wishes.

Thanks Cava, great to know! Hope things work themselves out for the both of our little ones, you'll have to let me know. Does anyone have any input on whether metacam or something similar would be a help at this point?
