Someone had brought in a baby squirrel into my work on Friday, he didn't seem to have any injuries so I asked if he could bring him back where he found him. He said he found him a few towns over and wouldn't be heading back that way. I brought him home, bought some petAg and tried to feed him. He wouldn't eat at first but by Saturday afternoon he was more alert and eating. I noticed one of his eyes is larger then the other, is it possible he is blind in this eye? I plan on taking him to the vet but I don't think I can get him there until Wednesday. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Can't see but the one eye in the photo so we have no perspective for comparison but perhaps the swelling is from an injury?

He needs to be on the proper formula.
Get Powdered Puppy Esbilac. Make sure the third ingredient
is Dried Whey Protein Concentrate.
Do you want us to try to find a rehabber for you?
Where are you in Mass?
Here's a great link to help with his care.
Have you ever raised a squirrel before?

Thank you for helping this little one.

I currently have been syringe feeding him PetAg kitten milk, is was told it was ok for them. I was looking for a rehab, I'm located in north Attleboro. I'm waiting to hear back from the owner of New England medical center, I was told she would take him. I would love to care for him until he's old enough to be released but I know he needs to be around other squirrels and I'm also very concerned about his eye.

There is a high probability the kitten milk will lead to diarrhea if it has not already. Squirrels are vegetarians, cats not so much. Vets tell folks wrongly to use KMR all the time. :shakehead

The Esbilac puppy formula is the only proven "off the shelf" formula which squirrels do well on.. and the link Nancy provided has lots of great information!

Can you post a picture of both eyes? Or maybe one side and then the other?

:Welcome to TSB and :thankyou for caring for the little one!

I have seen a bulging eye..
It may very well be an infection or an infectious bulge behind the eye from head trauma .
Did you have any luck finding a rehabber?
