This is Violet. Just got her today. I thinking 2-3 wks? She weighed 67 gms, and tented fairly pronounced, so pretty dehydrated/emaciated. I warmed her first and have been giving a dextrose/water solution every 2 hrs, 2-3 cc. I have stimulated her each time, no urine yet. would this be expected with her being pretty dehydrated? should I go ahead and start formula at the 24 hr mark, and hydrate between feedings? Should I start at 25% formula and increase strength gradually? Thanks for any help!

Yes, no urine is normal for a dehydrated baby.

I don't think I would wait 24 hrs for formula. Remember formula is hydration also. When she starts urinating I would start dilute formula. I would mix the formula 3 parts water to one part formula. I would hydrate between feeding as needed.

Just want to add that Violet is about 5 weeks old, with all that fur. Her eyes should open any minute. :great
