Just wondering those who has baby squirrels born in captivity, what food are you feeding the mother squirrel?
My pair of squirrels has been on oxbow for several months and the female gave birth 2 times, May and July 2016...In May, both babies did not make it and this time, the single baby has been struggling. Now matter how long this baby is sucking the mothers nipples, there is no visible milk line....which leads me to think that the mother squirrel is not making milk or very little of it.
The female is fed oxbow regal rat food and she is given vegetables everyday...is this diet too lean and not good for milk production?

Sounds like the baby needs to be taken from mom and syringed feed Esbilac with Probiotics....... then I would think about separating the male and female from each so this does not happen any more, for moms sake.

Rhapsody, she's in China and I don't think there is any way to get it there.
How does the baby look? Is the goat milk formula helping?

Wondering if this thread should be re-titled, something like, "CHINA - Food help needed in China!" The reason I say this is because it seems the biggest obstacle here seems to be figuring out what is available in China for baby squirrels - and anyone short on time who is just reading titles needs to know that someone in China needs help. This may get the attention of those members who are knowledgeable about China faster.

Have you been successful finding the Royal Canin Babydog Formula? That would be PERFECT.
