Painted watering dish? - Healthy or not?

I bought one of these and as soon as I added water, the paint started coming off of the inside of the bowl, http://www.lowes.com/pd/25-in-H-1-Tier-Round-Concrete-Birdbath/3691252

Do you think that's bad for squirrels and/or birds? If so, I will limit myself to unpainted cement in the future.

All I did was squirt it with the hose.

That's ridiculous. If you bought it in the store, I would return it.
For that price especially, I would expect the paint to hold.
None of mine have done this.

Thing is, it looks perfect in the yard, won't fall on kids, etc. My ONLY concern is regarding the health of the wildlife that drinks from it.
