View Full Version : Do nuts in shells ruin lawnmower blades?

If so, which kinds are you aware of that do this or don't do this?

I don't think so. Those blades are turning such high RPM ,the nuts will pulverize. I hit coconut husks with my mower, any the blades are fine...Ha!!
NOISY sure--Damage--probably not...

Dull them yes.... ruin them no.
Just sharpen the blade. :)

also if the blades are raised high enough they shouldn't touch the nut shells at all~~ also a nice height for grass versus cutting down too close to the soil.

Black walnuts will dull the s*** out of a blade. When mine drop off the tree I have to rake them up befor I can cut the grass under the tree. The first time I went over them it sounded like an automatic gun going off.
