I'm watching this thread closely. I have a guy in almost the same condition. I've always enjoyed watching the squirrels in our big trees. A while back I noticed one with a stub of a tail. Looks like a bunny squirrel. Monday I was sitting in the living room with the front door opend when I heard a thud in the yard. Poor guy was stunned on the ground. When I approached him, he tried to get away and his hind end seemed paralyzed. After following him with a box trying to catch him and him furiously trying to climb a tree, I felt I was making his situation worse. He managed to get back in the tree somehow. 20 minute later, thud. He fell again. This time I used a bigger box and scooped him up. I assume his missing tail is from an old altercation. Also I see one of his front paws is missing a couple toes.

bk522, You need to start your own thread to bring attention to your own situation to get help and advise for this squirrel.
Click on: Emergency (Life Threatening) Help Needed, look to top left where is says: Post new thread, click on that and
repeat what you have posted here.

Thanks Russell, we were posting at the same time.
I moved her post for her, and sent her an email with this link. :w00t
I wonder if the missing toes are from a wound or if he was born that way. Had a couple of squirrels that were all missing toes and various problems with tails. One was even corkscrewed. After quite a bit of investigation ( it happened in my hometown) fish and wildlife decided the defects came from someone putting rat poison in the trees. :(

Welcome and thank you for caring, bk522!
Could you take a video of what's going on with your little guy? And photos of his injuries?
How long have you had him?
Where do you keep him?
Have you treated him in any way so far?
How is he acting right now?
What do you feed him?
The more detailed your description of his injuries, the better rehabbers here would be able to make suggestions.

Poor little guy. I feel just terrible. I wanted to help him, but I'm afraid I'm just prolonging his misery. The 1st day he was in the garage in a big cardboard box, with the top open and a towel, a dish of water, and a couple of popcorns, baked corn puffs and a grape while I tried to figure out what to do. Then I got a lg bunny cage and moved him out by the house under the overhang in the shade thinking it might cheer him up. He hasn't ate or drank that I can tell...I don't think he'll make it. I don't think I can give him water from a dropper without getting bit. I went to the farm store here and asked if they had anything for squirrels. The lady said "You mean to kill them?"! I was like NO! So sad. I did find something labeled as a treat for squirrels, but he hasn't touched it. I'm working 78 hours this week and this poor guy and an angry 4 ft iguana, 5 dogs ( one with a tumor, one with heartworms, and one with a biting problem)
I feel like I'm dancing as fast as I can and letting them all down. I work night shift 6p-6a and can't any sleep for days...and this poor squirrel

if you describe in detail EXACTLY what's going on + pics and a video, rehabbers here may suggest how to help.
So far what you wrote says very little and is too general to even suggest what might be going on, let alone what to do.
Please see my post above and answer these questions.
And keep him away from the dogs.
