I have a sweet little 3 week old female squirrel and am not sure of the time frame to start releasing her. I live in Thunder Bay where winters are very cold!! I've read that some people recommend over wintering her. She will be 12 weeks old around the first week in August. First snow generally fly here in November. I'd appreciate any advice . I'm a total newbie at this and want this little sweetheart to have a fighting chance out there. Also, my house in town has bush at the back but a busy road at the front. There are LOTS of red squirrels here. There is already a red squirrel that has marked my bird feeder as his/ hers already so there might be territory issues! I actually found her in the middle of my driveway at camp. It is quieter there but there are LOTS of predators and very few red squirrels out there. Also, I am not at camp very often to supervise her release. Neither is perfect but I'd appreciate any suggestions. That all said she is growing like a weed!! She loves her formula but is getting hard to feed as she's so squirmy!
