Hello,
My little half release/half mama's baby squirrel was running around in the trees today and popped into a once abandoned dray he likes to nap in from time to time. Well, it's not abandoned anymore! I assume the mama squirrel who built it and raised some babies earlier this year is back. Anyway, there was a terrible fuss and my little guy got the worst of it. He was bit on his face around his nose. I cleaned him up but what should I put on the wounds -- if anything? Thank you! -T

Oh poor guy...:glomp Can you post a picture of his wounds? Keep it clean and keep an eye on it for now.

Hi there and thank you so much for replying. I thought I was set up to receive an email notice if I got a reply -- guess I'm not. I didn't think anyone posted a response so I didn't bother to check back. Good news is his wounds are healed - just a little scab on his face still. They were just superficial, but poor guy - he is a lover not a fighter. I'm sure it scared him to death. However, he climbed right back in the dray again a few days ago! Luckily mama squirrel wasn't home. I shook the tree branch and scared him out. I'm going to have to be extra diligent to make sure he doesn't piss her off again. If he has any future abrasions from for any reason, I bought something called Collodial Silver that's supposed to be really good for animal cuts and even for other ailments. Ever used it? Thanks again.

I'm so glad to hear he's getting better! How old is he?
