Hi, My baby, Theodore, about a 9 month old male, Fox Squirrel has been having a reddish belly -reddish tinted fur around his penis. I don't know if its bloody or concentrated dark urine. Sometimes its wet & sometimes its just dried that way. He has water available all the time. Is that normal for a male his age? He acts normal & healthy. Am not sure if I need to do something to avoid problems & want to keep him healthy & sassy.
Thanks.

What is his diet? He may be eating something that is causing this... acorns? Beets? ????
A picture is always a lot of help!

Hi Spanky,
Thank you for your time/feedback.
After about a week of being that way, I washed him off around there, and he doesn't seem to have let it get like that again, so I'm monitoring him.
If he gets that way again, I will make a point to get a photo to post for you to see as well.
Maybe it was something he ate. Our acorn season is over here, but I give him branches with different wild native berries on them (Granjeno, Brasil, Anacua,) , home grown peaches, grapes, avocados, mulberries...oh! Maybe its from the Mulberries!!!?? I guess I can give him some more Mulberries, which are still in season, & see if it happens again!
