Hello, I have a 1 and a half year old flying squirell. I've been raising him since he was 6 weeks old. He had always been friendly with me since I've been his main care taker never bites me, sometime "play" nibble, but never attack. He doesn't like other people though. It all started about a week or a week and a half ago, frodo started to bite me a little, it was a gradual thing too, just biting me every so often, I just though I might of startled him, or he was mad bc I did clean the cage about the time he started acting a little funny but He has never responded like this. So then it became more frequent with the biting and "humping motion" I don't really know what to call it but That's what it looks like he does after he attacks with the biting. He just finished molting on his tail about a month ago, all his hair is back, I'm not wearing any new scents, I'm having a really hard time trying to pen point the problem, he doesn't seem hurt, I've noticed he has been eating more and drinking a lot more water then usual. He's just been very jittery when he's out playing, and he will still jump on me but it's not like before all this he would climb in my shirt, let me pet his head and body, jump around off me, he jumps on my cautiously bc he come up to bite me. I don't know what to do, it's very discouraging. Could it be a mateing thing?? Thank you for your help...

Sounds like your little boy is growing up and the biting and humping is him trying
to be the dominate one. I would suggest you tell him NO in a firm voice every
time he attempts to nip at you and if needed do a little tap on the nose when you
say NO to him.

Some times these changes are temporary and will pass in time, but you still need
to let him know who is in charge by tell him NO when he does these neg behavior.

Good Luck.....
