Need a rehabber in Mid Michigan for a grey squirrel baby

We found a little black/grey squirrel in our yard yesterday. We watched from inside most of the afternoon to see if it's mother would return to get him. By evening it looked like she was not around and it seemed distressed. We brought him inside and guessing from what I've read that it is roughly 6 weeks old. He is warm and is drinking from a syringe. I have never rehabbed a squirrel before and we are also leaving tomorrow to go out of town for 3 days. I am hoping to find someone in my area to take the little guy. I've contacted many places with no luck so far. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not aware of any contacts in your immediate area. There is a wildlife center in Lowell Michigan that has been used by a member here. The member was very impressed with the place. http://farmwildlife.org/contact/
I googled the distance and it appears to be about 100 miles from you. That's quite a distance. You might want to call them and ask if they know of any reliable contacts closer to you.

Frequently, wildlife rehabbers network with each other so she might be able to help you.

How far are you from Chicago? It's about a 4 hour drive, but would meet and take this baby. I have another baby currently around the same age.

Thank you for responding!!! I did find someone last night and drove to meet her. I didn't get in until late so I didn't get a chance to get back on the board until now. Thank you again...it's so nice that there are so many caring people out there willing to help in these situations.
