Hi Everyone,
Just rescued a squirrel from a black bird who was trying to eat it or kill it...not sure. I am in Montreal Quebec and can not seem to find anyone who can help . The squirrel is about 4 weeks old -eyes still closed. Does anyone know of a wildlife sanctuary/rescue? thank you

Keep him warm, dark and quite.
IF you have a heating pad put it on low and put
under HALF of the container he's in.
Put things like t shrits, fleece or flannel in
so her can burrow down.
Here's a place that just recently helped out another
little squirrel in your area.
I hope this works out, please keep us posted, and
thank you for helping this little one. :grouphug

Thank you for rescuing him.
As far as I know, there are hardly any good places to bring him to in Mtl.
I've texted a good member here for suggestions. So please check here often (and your PMs, too).
In the meantime, follow all the basics, such as a heating pad as Nancy mentioned, maybe hydrate him if you can - dehydration can be fatal.
Please check here and your PMs often.

cpietra could you send a pic of your baby? I may have somebody who could take your baby for you, but I have to make sure he's about 4 weeks old.

here is a picture of the little one!
We found the nest but it has been destroyed by the crows. There are no traces of mom. we kept it under the tree hoping to see mom pick him up but that did not happen. His eyes are still closed but he is a quick little one! He eats well. One of the board members gave me a contact and hopefully they will be able to help .

The lil one is now at his new mom's place, with a lil brother the same age he is. Seems he is comfy, and stable now, even if a bit of diarrhea when he arrived. Have no fear folks, he's in very good hands: this young lady has rehabbed others for us 3 times at least in the past and even released. She had even taken her babies on vacation with her to make sure they'd not be placed in other hands while she was away :) She's also a vet's animal tech... which doesn't hurt.
From what I was told he was really happy to meet his new brother and the 2 of them snuggled up as soon as they were placed together. :serene
I don't know the name of this lil guy yet but I know we're all rooting for him. :Love_Icon
